Lavery will be displayed by self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books. “Lucious” is a gripping story of self-discovery and loyalty, telling how life can take unexpected turns. It follows the life of an old Roman soldier named Lucius. Lucius is a well-known man who comes from a family with a long history in the Roman military.
He has sworn allegiance to Caesar and serves as an enforcer of the Emperor's will. Conflicted feelings are plaguing Lucius; he is Caesar's loyal servant but despises the imperial ambition, which concept of peace always leaves another war to fight.
Early in Lucius's life, his father was taken away from him, having left him with ideas that were not Roman, like his dislike of slavery and his belief that people should be heard and respected. These concepts would shape his character and put him on a collision course with the one who is telling the truth.
Reverend Michael H. Lavery paints a picture that is nothing short of masterful within the pages of his signature book.
